Tree Felling & Removal
Tree felling is the tree surgeon technique of cutting down a tree. It’s a highly skilled technique mastered by our professional arborists, with safety prioritised. Often, you will find our tree care experts using dedidcated tree climbers, ropes and harnesses to ensure the tree is felled safely.
Common reasons for removing a tree are:
- To increase space and light to an area,
- Removal of the tree due to death or disease,
- Storm damage has caused the tree to a public hazard.
After a tree is felled, the remaining trunk called the stump is left in the ground. To remove this, a powerful machine called a stump grinder is used to chip away the wood to ground level. Our highly skilled arborists are trained to use the machine safely and efficiently.
Some reason a stump may need to be removed are:
- To make way for a building or structure,
- It’s a tripping hazard for the public or homeowners,
- The disease of the removed tree has spread to its root.
Unruly hedges, untamed trees and overgrown grass are all unsightly and can be a hazard to public or traffic. Throughout Suffolk, we have been hired by both domestic and commercial clients to bring order back to wild shrubbery.
Most common pruning techniques we are used to employ are:
- Crown raising
- Crown thinning
- Crown thinning
- Hedge removal
- Hedge trimming
- Hedge reducing
- Tree Pollarding
- Grass cutting
Whether our tree surgeons are working in grounds of a home or commercial property, our work will create debris. This could be wood chippings, bark, sharp branches and trunk sections. It doesn’t matter if it’s due to tree surgeon work, storm damage or leftover from other work – we can clear it.
Fortunately, we have machines to remove the debris and clean the site so it’s safe for public use or future landscaping. The most common machine we use is a wood chipper, ideal for recycling debris for further use.
Need to upgrade your garden view? Or maybe optimise your front garden space? Let us transform your driveway with a new patio or even install a new decking for the summer seasons.

Tree Preservation & Site Surveys
Is some cases, trees need to be protected by the local authority. For this reason, our arborists are employed to advise on A Tree Preservation Order to protect specific trees, groups of trees or woodlands in the interests of amenity.
Additionally, should you be the owner of a protected tree or are planning building developments, we can also advise on the impact of the work using with a site survey.
These surveys consist of a plan of action to protect trees during construction
Woodland Forestry & Management
Woodlands and forests are home to a large number of tree species and wildlife, therefore, it is extremely important these public areas are kept in the best conditions.
If the woodland is open to the public, our tree surgeons can undertake a tree survey to monitor trees. Measuring growth, checking for disease and any hazards will allow us to prevent the risk of injury to the public.
We also use the survey to ensure tree diseases do not spread in the woodland.
